silencer ring

Anyone remove their silencer ring from the turbo?

I don't think our turbos have the silencer ring like the dodges. If you wanting to make the turbo louder you can straight pipe the truck, put on a cai, and plug the resonator.

no silentcer ring but you can do a straight exhaust along with a CAI and you should have plenty of turbo noise but not quite like the PSD or CTD.

strait piping them give you more noticable turbo noise? or is it just a louder exhaust system. I know on my neighbors 7.3 he strait piped it and it didnt seem to increase the sound of the turbo, more or less the motor sound at idle.

The most dramatic change in turbo noise that you will get is from deleting your intake filter box, plugging your resonator, and porting out your turbo inlet pipe. Look on the site here and you will find info on all of these mods.

plug resonator, strait pipe, cai, and most importantly ported turbo intake horn make a huge difference. the main thing out of all these is the horn though not only made the truck uch crisper but made the turbo noticably louder!
