Bought a used aurora 5000 turbo and kit, had new seals, bearings, and wheel put in it from a professional shop. Did the install this weekend. Started the truck checked all connections for leaks made sure everything was ok and it was, turbo spun fine. Let it idle for 10 minutes or so. Went to take it home, reved it up some it sounded awesome! Made it 1/4 mile down the road and got on it a little and BANG It wasn't even spooled up enough to here it whistle before it popped. My first thought was I left a boost clamp loose and blew a boot. Left the truck running jumped out looked at all the boots the were fine. Removed intake and the compressor wheel wasn't spinning so I shut the truck off quickly. Looked at the turbo and the wheel was locked up but no visible damage, but the nut that holds the wheel to the shaft was just sitting in the intake of the turbo. So Im completely confused. Any ideas of to what happend?

Off topic but...What do I do with the A/C hose that goes overtop the turbo just leave it sit on the housing?
We drill a hole in the lip above and ziptie it up tight against that lip.
Sorry to hear about the troubles. Good luck

I wrapped my AC lines in some heat wrap and they hang about 2 or 3 inches above the exh housing all is fine so far but probally with the higher hight of the a5 you might wanna zip them up!

I would be calling your rebuilder A.S.A.P. Gus, if it was done properly that nut should have never came off the shaft!
Yeah even when turbos self destruct the nut usually still has the end of the shaft in it!!
