Normal EGT & Boost #'s

I just installed a EGT guage & a boost guage on my 04 Duramax. I am relatively new to diesels and would like to know what I should see for normal readings. What would be considered too high of a number?

The EGT's get to about 900 if I really get on it. The boost does not get any higher than 20, which seems low.

Truck motor is stock with the exception of the guages and a K&N filter.

Boost sounds about right. Where is your pyro mounted? Egt's seem a little low but that isn't a bad thing.

Both sound about right. EGT's are good, the upper limit is around 1250-1300 and boost is around 30-32 max psi.

Do we have VGT turbos or waste gate?

It should be a VVT. Lb7's had a wastegated turbo.
