Wierd Stuff

I had to send my truck to the dealer a wile back to get the heater switch looked at and I took my Edge off before they took it. When I got the truck back and put the edge back on it doesn't seam to have the same power. It doesn't come close to smokin the tires the same as it did before. A friend of mine has a bone stock LMM and he can now keep up with me and even pull away a little. What is going on. The only thing I changed was the fuel I used. It is the same fuel but I have it delivered here at work instead of going to the station. I also started to use Power Service at the same time I changed fuel. The power feals the same if you are allready rolling but off the line it is guttless. The fuel filter has 1,000 miles on it.

Damn those heater switches......always messin everything up. Did you check the low end fueling?? This could have something to do with it when you re-installed it.

That was the first thing I checked. I keep it on "Most responsive". I filled the truck up with the fuel here at work, for the first time, the day before the dealer came and got it and I never had a chance to drive it untill I put the programmer back on. I am really thinking it is the fuel but the stuff here at work comes from the same guy that ownes the station where I got it before.

I'd change the fuel filter..just to be sure..

I had a Wix/ Napa fuel filter go bad after only 3k miles, tranny was shifting like poo poo, changed the filter, and she shifts like new.

I remember reading that one. Here is what I found today. I was putting on my new, used tires and rims and I decided to check the oil. When I opened the hood my intake had come apart. It seperated between the filter and the aluminum tube. It was sucking all the hot, unfiltered air from under the hood. Could this have had something to do with it. I didn't even think to check the connection between the aluminum tube and the turbo. If it was leaking there the air would be bypassing the MAF and probabaly screw things up.

Seems to me we have a winner!!!! Since the MAF sensor was being bypassed the ECM had no idea how much air the turbo was pulling in. Thats what the ECM looks at when its being asked for more fuel so if its not getting a reading, you will have VERY poor throttle response. You will possibly be throwing some codes too.
