Back in the saddle again

This my first post on the DMAX forum. A little over a year ago, I made a huge mistake and bought a ford. I know, it was stupid! I had always been a Chevy fan, but I got a pretty good deal on the ford, so live and learn... the truck rode like a lumber wagon, got poor mpg, lots of maint. etc...

Well, now I have an 03 DMAX. Only mod is a aftermarket exhaust. I want to get it chipped and add a air intake.

On my ford, I got chip from a place called dp tunner. The guy who owns it is really a great guy! He only works on the fords, but does a excellent job and is very well respected. I am wondering if there is a place that is comparable with the DMAX. Someone who does the tunes etc... or what would be a good chip/tuner for this truck??? I am looking for economy, and better throttle response. It seems that the throttle response with stock is not very good and seems quite doggy.

Also, what intake would you recomend?

My vote goes to PPE as far as programmers easy to use great tech support. As intakes go I run an afe, easy to install and haven't any trouble with it. S&B intakes for the D-max are right up there with afe. In my opinion, I would go with one of those two. Welcome to the Forum!

It all depends on whether you have the time to design your own tunes or just want a handheld tuner with levels to choose from. EFILive to design your own tunes or buy custom tunes from people. PPE is in my opinion the best handheld tuner but I also have tried nothing else. I have read up on tuners alot though.
