Hello to all,
I am new here and I just bought an 03 Duramax 4x4 2500. I have a K&N Filter and plan to put on a Magnaflow Cat Back System on my Truck.
My Question: Do the Performance Chips help with Fuel Milage? If so can you tell me what kind you have and what kind of an increase I could expect (as long as I keep my foot off of the floor).
I have a PPE hot Xcelerator on level 4 and saw about a 3mpg increase in fuel mileage across the board. I had an edge box prior to this and never saw anything higher than about 1.5mpg extra. Welcome to the Forum!

I have a intake, and straight piped exhausdt on my truck. I just installed a PPE. On level 1 my truck gets about 1.5 MPG better around town if i keep my foot out of it. On the highway I get a 3mpg gain or so. Alot of people say the bigger the tune the better your mileage is so I gotta go to level 2 soon

So it looks like I can indeed get better MPG with a tuner and keeping my foot off of the floorboards. If I am only after MPG and not so much the HP, should I just purchase an inexpensive Tuner?
New to the forum also -- have been recommended HyperTech E-Con? Other than torque and HP - anyone have a clue as to how it does for mpg? Looking to increase my mileage not necessarily the other.
i would do the ppe standard it a better tuner and they guarantee 1-2 mpg better and more if you can keep you foot away from the floor. let me know if i can help with a price

Traildog, you should also get rid of that K&N filter. They let too much dirt through and into your turbo. Also they can let oil get by and into your Mass Airflow Sensor and screw it all up. Go with an oilless filter, your truck will be much happier.
I have a couple of friends with Bully dog programers and they both seem to get great mileage now. does anyone have experiance with bully dog and what are the pros and cons of bully dog vs PPE?
