eh, 16 isn't really that bad.

Since my pickup was received in Dec 02 it has averaged 15.82. This was calculated using an excel spreadsheet with over 450 total fillups, so I feel it is rather accurate. It also includes all the towing, all the dirt roads, all the 80+ mph drives trying to get to emergency jobs on time, etc.

With that said, recently with all the two lane no-hurry driving I've been doing its been getting 17-18mpg. This was with an entirely bone stock truck. We'll see what the milage increase truly is once I get the exhaust (thursday) and PPE (whenever it gets here). I'm hoping to break 20 mpg for the first time in years

Here is a screenshot to give you an idea of what I was talking about in regards to the spreadsheet:

That mileage isn't horrible but it could be better. Try inflating your tires to the max psi. listed on the sidewall. Also do you have a grille guard, headache rack etc, a bunch of stuff in the bed. Some of these little things can make a bigger difference than you would think. Switching from a 245 to a 265 can rob close to 1mpg. Just my .02 cents.

I already have my tires at max pressure. I guess that I am just frustrated because there are many people who claim they get 20 plus mpg. Is it possible? Are people going off of their dic instead of hand calculating?

Hey supper, that is quite a spreadsheet... It sure would be nice to fill up for $1.50 a gal. The highest fill was still under $40.00. Now I am spending over $100 per fill!!!!!!!!

Well, if you look at those dates that is the start of the spreadsheet back when diesel was cheap Last four fillups where all over $80

Well I'll be damned... I just put in the last four fillups. One of them was nothing but two lanes. Pulled 23.94 MPG :cool I knew it was good, but didn't realize it was -that- good. We'll see what kind of real world difference the PPE and exhaust make over the next month or so.

Yeah some people do B.S. their mileage and make wild claims that are just not possible. However, some do as you can see from supper's spreadsheet, those numbers don't lie.
