Garrett Duramax Turbo Kit

I went on Welcome to TurboByGarrett.com and saw the Duraamax turbo kit with the GT3788R turbo.

I was wondering if this is a good set up for the money?

Any info would be helpful.

The head studs will allow for higher boost pressures right.

from what i've heard with head studds your good for 40-45PSI safely but after that your pushing the bottom end fairly hard..maybe one of the guys with more experience will chime in.

Stock bolts and gaskets are good into the low 40's no problem! THe 3788 kit wont show much improvememnt over stock turbo. It will run cooler egts and a higher boost but Air flow wise and hp wise its not much more than a stocker!

Im not that fermiliar with the D-maxes thats why im hear to learn about them. But Im running a Garrett GT3788R and LOVE it! Spools fast and sounds great, & flows lots of air. IMO Garrett makes some of the best turbos out there. But again Im a Cummins guy and dont have much experiance with the Duramax.

Thats what i was wondering. I want to have as little turbo lag as possible. Sounds like an intersting set up.

IMO from my experiance with these turbos on my 24V Cummins They do spool really fast! I can have boost @ just about any RPM. The boost is always there when you need it
