Deleted factory fuel filter today and won't run

I changed oil engine today and decided to delete factory filter. Unplugged the two harnesses and pulled the hose off the FICM, grabbed a piece of 1/2" fuel hose and coupled both ends from where the filter was.

Started right up and died. I figured had a bit of air. Let the Air Dog run for a minute or two, started right up then will run for a while misses every few seconds and after a minute or so it will die. Did this multiple times.

I opened up the fuel test port used a pick while lift pump was on and pressed on the schrader valve and got a bubble of air out. Still runs for minute then dies, can't get any more air out of the test port good clean fuel and plenty of it.

What should I try next???????

You don't have to prime an AD. I would hook up to that schrader valve and make sure all the air is out.

Not a problem! The AD is supposed to filter out the air automatically and send it back to tank, providing the CP3 with fuel only. Notice I said supposed to!

I mean do you not need to prime the AD with fuel on initial install??

I'm sure there was some air after having both ends open. The Air Dog seems to be working fine and has been on for one year with no other problems until now. I haven't checked with a gauge but at the test port you can push the valve in a full flow of fuel will push out 6"ish inches with no air bubbles.

Nope, I never did. I put mine on, keyed on for maybe 30 seconds and it fired right up. This is with both AD filters dry (new) and a Cat filter on stock filter head dry (new). I wanted to test out the air filtering that AD claims and it for sure did.
