Fuel Leak

Hey Guys i have a fuel leak on my 2005 LLY LS...it looks like there is a radiator for the fuel under the driverside backseat...what is that called and is it an expensive fix or am i just that clueless when it comes to this...Thanks Guys im sure someone can help me

That would be the fuel cooler, Could you possibly post up a pic of the leak so we could get a better idea of where it's originating from in that area?

Yes, fuel cooler-- it cools the un-used fuel as it goes back to the fuel tank. The common problem in the rust belt. Salt, snow and ice will rust the fitting and lines. [brake lines also]

Dont know what it costs, but the damn lines are big bucks from the dealer-. I would fab up some hoses-- if you can find fittings to the cooler. There is low pressure, so regular gas 3/8 hose should be OK.

Not recommend you by-pass the cooler.

Same happened to me. Don't bypass it, assuming the cooler is good just fix it with some brass hose fittings (on cooler), quality fuel line and some stainless hose clamps. Use a dremel tool to cut off the metal compression fittings towards the front and attach your fuel line there. Insulate any places the hose may rub on frame/brackets/etc and zip tie well.
