Installed new mouthpeice

I went to local dealer yesterday and got the new mouthpiece. Installed it today. Fairly easy. Ground flange to gain clearance. Simple. Did find oil in mouth of turbo and oil build up in old mouthpiece, about 1/16" film. Is this normal? Cranked up truck and throttle acted like different truck. Much quicker response. Haven't drove yet.

I paid $116.00 plus tax. Rather high but he had it in stock and ordering from GMpartsdirect was no good for me. I'm not in the state my home is in. By the time it was shipped to NC and then shipped to Texas the cost would be near same. They wouldn't ship to anywhere other than the address on CC.

Yes, it's normal. A result of the crankcase vent, that's the 'T' hose you struggled with to get back on.

Take 'er out and try it. Just take it easy for a few shifts, and give the Allison time to adjust to the change.

I put about 50 miles on truck today. Fan never came on even once. Temps around 90 here. Never really push it until I was coming to apartment tonight from daughters. I was coming from the feeder onto the interstate and gave it about half throttle and it sounded like a 4 barrel and jumped up to speed. Lie o meter showed about 3 mpg more also. Very pleased with results. Everyone with a lly should do this. I thank everyone on this forum that contributed to this. God bless

update

Got 13.8 on this tank of fuel since the mb mod. Truck runs much better and is much cooler. Fan only runs if setting idling for extended time. Only wished mpg were better. No change there. Any suggestions or is this normal and everyone else is going by dic readings? Speedo is rather accurate. Have Garmin and they agree on speed and mileage also. Therefore 13.8 is accurate.

I just purchased my 2005 Silverado/HD 2500 last month. This is my first diesel, so I had no knowledge of options that might have been done on my truck. I read all the information from Killer Bee, and decided to modify the stock LLY mouthpiece. Much to my surprise the mouthpiece had already been replaced with the LBZ mouthpiece. I also discovered that the CAT is a fake....It is a straight-thru pipe, but has the fake housing that looks like a CAT is installed. I just got back from towing my boat from Havasu, AZ to Riverside, CA....I was very pleased getting 13 MPG, but I was driving under 65 MPH. The Duramax/Allison combination has exceeded my expectations...
