Would love to see the test with using 0.5 psi increment pressure drops. The graphical representation would be be awesome.
Nice to see some fellow geeks about.
See I told you he would LOVE this info.

Thanks!
I tested it at 10" WC since many people use that number, and then 18" - 24" WC, every inch. I'll make some new restriction graphs, swapping the X and Y axes.
Just for your use, there is 3-4 psi (120") of restriction in a stock MP.
I know that is inversely representing the relationship, but it gives an idea of graphical potential.
My original testing showed a combination of effects, a 10-15% increase in flow, lowered restriction, and reduced heat manufacture. It's a convergence relationship.

Hey guys, I ordered a MP through GM Parts direct, they told me they had them. After paying, I got an email saying it was backordered with no expected delivery date. I cancelled my order, made a call to my local dealer and he said he didn't have any, but that a dealer close to my hometown had two. I called them and they shipped it to me that day. I got it in less than 24 hours. It was a bit pricey, but I got it, around 125 bucks.
HOWEVER, now that I've installed it...took me almost two hours. I wish I had just ordered KB's set up. I am assuming it would go in easier, but the stock LBY mp had to be trimmed in several places to get it in and I'm still not sure I've got the clearance I need.
I trimmed where KB has warned that the mp would crack the water fitting underneath the mp. I had to trim where the wiring harness snakes near the PCV inlet on the mp. I've got it installed, runs great, finally got some scratch off the line with these duals, but I've got an annoying buzz/rattle that I've got to sort out tomorrow. It sounds like the resonator is rattling on something at low rpm idle. As soon as I add a little fuel it goes away.
More on this saga tomorrow.
In short, I apologize to KB for not just ordering the kit through him. I think the install would have gone smoother and who knows, if I find the rattle is from a clearance issue I can't solve, I might be ordering one anyway.
Be careful out there!
Mike

Reason: typo
Sorry to hear the install was tough on 'ya.. I know if i didn't have an air grinder for the LBZ MP areas to grind, would have probably been pretty tough to cut the area out for the egr water line.

KB, yeah, I'm stupid! Don't rub it in. I already had the MP ordered and on its way when I realized you had the whole shootin' match. Sorry!
On the upside, I was trying to figure out what the rattle was I had at idle. Well, this morning I get in the truck to take my kids to Vacation Bible School and the rattle is going on. My 12 year old kicks something on the passenger floor and the rattle goes away. It appears I've been unable to find the empty soda can resting on the seat track bolt on the floor. I'm such a doof! Anyway, crisis averted.
To everybody who sorted this whole MP think out, Thank You! I was beginning to think a 5500 was in store and those things aren't cheap.
