EGR block ?

I've seen some postings about blocking the egr, could someone tell me what good it does and how to do it?

The EGR allows the exhaust and soot from the exhaust to be regenerated into the intake manifold. This allows the level of our soot output to be lower. Its all about emmisions and making the vehicles meet emmsions standards for the US but probably conceived in Calif. Our engines don't need more soot poured into them so the EGR block plate was developed to prevent the EGR from dumping the extra soot into the manifold.

There are a few write ups on installing it. I went through the passenger side inner fender well to install mine. Many people do it from above but it can be a pain getting the 2 bolts loose from above.

Yes they do and I am one of those vendors that have blocker plates for all Duramax models if you need one for your LLY.
