I know this has posted to death but I have 2005 LLY GMC. The only mods are an edge juice and K&N filter and intake tube. I have heard changing the mouthpiece can be helpful and I have plans for an exhaust upgrade. So my question is What mouth piece to get and where to get it. What other mods should I do? Its an everyday driver and I pull a horse trailer and other trailers occasionaly. Thanks for helping a new guy out.
This is the original Induction Overhaul Kit, and while there have been copycats, there is no better solution in the marketplace. There is also one for aftermarket intakes.

You have quite a few options for this mod. KB has a very nice kit and if you have the cash you can't go wrong with his kit. I have his TCAI and very happy with the results. If you just want to try the LBZ Mouthpiece that will be your least cost modification. GM Parts # 98011738 I bought mine from gmpartsdirect.com Delivered to my door within 4 days for under $90.00 very easy to change out. I had zero experience working on my truck. Just looking at the info from this site and I was able to replace mine in under 30 minutes....Good Luck

You have to buy more than a mouthpiece. This seems to be frequently overlooked. There is no way you can cover the ground you need to in 30 minutes, or even several hours. There is machining involved for fitment, a method of reducing and coupling to consider...shopping...material compatability (rubber is not acceptable), clamps, etc.
Then again, maybe I am overlooking something. When I developed the IOH kit, it was anything but an easy process. Some of the recent trouble posts are proving that for me now. Cracked EGR's, cracked downpipes, broken dips ticks, broken MP mountings. Saving money? Where is the value of all the hours of reading you did? Or do you just think that all the time I spend creating this literature, 50 pages of it, was just goodwill? Have a little respect for yourself, you make enough money to own a duramax.
A refined turnkey solution with factory appearance, and lifetime warranty, comes with considerable planning and effort. I spent hundreds of hours analyzing the LLY shortcomings, and creating the resolution. Copycats have not been able to match the effort, or the performance benefit I provide. They just don't.
Anything else will void warranty for turbo work. My effort cleared the way to maximize all the benefits of induction overhaul, with no risk to warranty. Since it takes 30 minutes to install, even with color install manual, I can safely guarantee that any other effort to read my research and make up your own solution will take hours of research store visits, and machine time. And that is only if you want to do it right. Nobody else is going to give a 100% money back assurance that there is no better solution.
Anyone who tells you different has not done these things. Copycats are into one thing...stealing. I have no control over that. But nothing alternatively available has better refinement, fitment, or performs better, period. That is because these things take effort, time, and $, not shortcuts.

I haven't seen any posts where it would take several hours to replace the stock MP. If it does you most likely went to see a double feature at your local theatre. StonewallMP5 where are you located? If your in SoCal buy the stock LBZ MP and I will install it on your truck within 30 minutes....again this is not a major modification. It might take a few minutes longer to get your intake measured/cut, but before I did my modification I was prepared. From reading all the posts regarding this Mod I knew that you had to grind down a ridge on the LBZ MP. This was accomplished in a few minutes with my $9.00 Harbor Freight grinder. I used the same information regarding cutting my intake, and had if marked and once I removed it I was able to make a straight cut with a Miter Saw. Luckily I had a silicone sleeve available so my installation maybe when a bit quicker than others, but it's really a very simple install....

When i put my AFE in it took me like 10 minutes...But i also don't have the resonator on my truck so I didin't have that to deal with.
That is also another option..The AFE mouthpiece is very nice and no modifications needed on your intake...pretty simple and well worth the money for a qualitly part in my opinion!! I love mine....
I suggest Alligator Performance....site sponser here and he has great customer service!
