2000rpm limit is only on fuel related limps

there is no rpm limit but it will not shift into 5th and the converter will be extremely extremely loose and power at take off will be reduced a lot. and no reverse like you experianced

we're right dont worry im an expert at trans limps..

you'll be fine and you can run the edge on a mileage tune IF you can RESIST the urge to give it power in 5th gear

Yeah, i think you're right about the rpm limit...it just doesnt shift. I remember doing about 80 when mine limped....heehe...pulling a long hill and had it floored and i was in 5th...then of course it downshifted to 4th and i was at about 2500 or a little more RPMs...been awhile since i limped my tranny. Been a little smarter about driving it....not much though

all I can say is those little transgo valves do great things I haven't limped mine yet I've done burnouts and 0-135mph at wot all with 37's it has to hate it's life and it still holds...there is usually a little clutch material in the fluid when I drain it though

Well it was just in limp mode. When I fired it up everything was fine. I hooked up a 24' enclosed trailer weighing just over 12k and halfway into Houston the service engine light went off and hasnt come back on since. I pulled on the tow setting, lvl 2, and 5th gear held fine so I dont think I did any real damage limping it that time. Hopefully I dont do it again before January.

one the clutches slip they are never the same again..so if your towing i would not run anything over stock power at all...

driving empty you may be able to get away with something like a 50 horse tune for a while but its still taking a chance

I have the edge display set to show trans slip % and I kept an eye on it while pulling in 5th gear yesterday. It stayed at 0.0 so I guess its alright. I'll keep an eye on it and if it shows any slip at all I'll drop the power down more.

So it it still ok to run lvl 4 or 5 at the 1/8 mile track? I run with the OD off so its only 1st thru 4th gear.

the gauge isn't going to hlp you becuase the tcm is going to read the slip before it does and put you in limp....

theoretically long as you dont go into 5th you should be ok for that power lever but its not a definite...
