Air temp sensor

My temp sensor readout in the rearview mirror has been erratic and reads about 10 to 20 deg hotter than ambient. I seemed to notice it shortly after putting on the winter front grille cover. Anybody seen this? I suspect that the sensor is behind the grille, and that might be making the mileage drop....due to the inacuracy of the temp vs ambient?

Tx

Yes it will be off due to the winter cover. There are some pics on http://Kennedydiesel.com in the tech tips that show you how to relocate it if you want it to read right with winter cover on the truck.
