It must suck having to put up with this, good luck...
Thank's. I have to go after them now. I tried to work with G.M. but when they basically call you a liar the gloves are off! My truck has never had any power adders and they are using that as an excuse to get out of the cost of replacing the engine that should be covered by their own warranty.
Thank You General Motors! I hope all your new potential customers read this forum and see what you are all about!
Again, General Motors reported a $3.3 Billion Dollar loss for the quarter and it doesn't take a rocket science to figure out where your company fails. (CUSTOMER SERVICE)
'm afraid to add stuff to my truck for this very reason,I don't want to slap anyone over a warranty, good luck dude!!!

It's even worse when you haven't added anything to it and they still treat you like this. They are not a stand-up company. They sit there and scratch their heads and wonder why the Japanese companies have loyal customers and sell more vehicles. (They take care of their customers after the sale!)
GMPP reconcidered and just sent over a letter stating: We regret we are unable to assist you with the repairs on your vehicle. A field adjuster has inspected the vehicle and reported warranty coverage from the vehicle manufacturer still exists. Chevrolet provides warranty coverage from the time this vehicle is put into service for aterm of 60 months or 100,000 miles. Therefore, we cannot accept liability for these repairs. If you have any questions regarding this, we urge you to contact Chevrolet at: 1-800-222-1020 . As per the agreement , under WHAT THIS AGREEMENT DOES NOT COVER:THis agreement is not responsible for a FAILUREor CLAIM:f)Covered by any warranty, vehicle manufacturer recall or guarantee issued by the vehicle manufacturer or a repairer.
I have been following along on this post Speedpro1, and it REALLY sucks that GM is still acting this way. I say still because I had a blown engine in my 98 camaro, in 1999. Because I had drag radials on it, they said it was raced and wouldn't cover the engine. In 2001, they determined there was an oil pump failure from 98-99 and all engine failures would be covered. Did they reimburse me the $4000 I paid MTI for a rebuilt engine? NO.
I agree with you 100%, SCREW THEM! When I buy a new vehicle, the warranty don't mean jack to me. If it breaks, replace it with something stronger, not the same crap that just broke.
I would love to just put a small Cat.3126 under the hood.
SpeedPro1 I feel your pain! I bought the 100,000mi warranty for my ford F-250, needless to say it didn't do SH*T! The owner of the dealership stood there and looked me in the eye and told me he would take care of my truck no matter what. He lied and I was out 3500 bucks! He said his hands were tied because I have an exhaust! B/S!
I just hope GM doesn't FU*K me like they are you if I ever have a problem with my new truck. I have an LLY Dully I drive for work all over the country as well, it broke down in OK one time and the dealer I had it towed to along with my 48ft car trailer took care of me right away. It had that little problem where the wires to the injectors were wearing through.
Good luck! I wish I would have taken Ford to court but I just didn't have the time!

Well, It's all in the hands of the legal system now. I still can't believe A company their size will let some jack#*# that is contracted and not even a G.M.employee make a decision that will tarnish their reputation. My thoughts are, they have gotten so big they just don't care about the customer anymore. I can't wait to see how much they loose in the next quarter! I might try to find a way to get the message out to their share holders too.
Just a thought. Have you talked to the Zone manager for chevy? He's the one that your factory rep reports to. Everyone has someone to report to even the Vice President of GM. Make phone call to the Zone office and tell them that you are being treated misfairly by the factory rep and ask for them to send someone else to diagnose the problem because their low level rep for some reason has a chip on his shoulder toward you. Could be that he has little expertice in diesels.
If you are still under warrenty keep going higher up the ladder until someone does ok the claim. Remember the squeakest wheel get oiled. I used to work in dealerships and the louder you complain, the better chance you have to get your claim approved.
I know this isn't fair to the dealership that is trying to help you, but go in on an evenng or saturday when the dealership is full of new car customers and start complaining LOUDLY and ask for the owner or next in line and in front of all the new customers complain about what is happening. The other way you can look at it is the dealership isn't trying hard enough to get you claim approved. If they sell a lot of cars, they should have some pull. The other thing is if that dealership has had more than its share of false claim, or more claims than the set percentage, they will get more claims denied by the factory rep to keep the numbers down. It's easier to say no than to worry about their jobs.
Just my $.02 cent worth. I have seen a lot of squeakly wheels get oiled.
