So...Im just about to have to make a choice myself. I will have my PPE 5 trans in on Saturday and have the choice of bolting on the PPE pan or my stock one. Whats the word here? Worth $300 or not? I do some amount of towing, usually from utility trailers all the way to a 32' tongue-pull camper. In the past, trans temps have not been an issue. But, that PPE pan sure does look COOL!!

Old Thread but good info.I drove from Maryland to Florida in 95-98 degree temps at times down I95 at speeds up to 80,"Just rolling with traffic" averaging about 70-75 for the full 14 hour trip and seen 226 at the hottest time towing about 16,000 pounds of trailer and accessories. I was thinking of the mag-tec or PPE for added security but I think I will use it towards something else.
I run the piss out of my truck but thats why I bought it.

Dont believe the mag hytec claims of 30* cooler temps. Deep pans only do 2 things; hold more fluid, and take longer to cool down. In retrospect, they take longer to heat up to the 180* operating temp. Adding one wont hurt, I paid like 60 bucks for my allison deep pan.
how did u get a pan for 60 bucks thats unherd of?
