Question Engine block heater cord??

Ok, so I have to raise my hood everytime I want to plug my truck in. Can I run a heavy duty extension cord from the factory cord and run it down by the tow hooks so I can just plug it in there instead of opening my hood everytime??

You can just undo it from all the other wires and unwrap it all the way back to were it connects to the engine block, that is what I did to get mine mounted at the tow hook.

The cord is plenty long enough to stick out 3' from the front if you wanted. You need to cut back some of the tape to the cord as its in the front anyway and taped back up the wire harness toward the pass side battery...

As mike said, that cord will drag on the ground if you want it to. Just pull it out of the loom as far as you want, then route it wherever you want it to be at.

Ok, I guess I need to look under the hood better. Just felt that there was some resistance when I pulled on it so I quit. Thanks for the help!!

There ios resistance. Follow the passenger side battery cables and you will find the block heater cord. Then just pull it out of the loom as much as you want.

I have mine in the pass wheel well at the top of the shock, easy to reach.
