At what point do you need to start looking at a lift pump? I am looking at getting a tuner and maybe a tranny so I can run a bigger tune but was wondering what else I will need.

Depending on what kind of power you wanna run, if your tranny can take it. If you use a bought tuner from like banks, quadzilla, or PPE, you shouldn't need a better or secondary fuel pump, just keep that fuel filter changed.

Wish List: Transparts iv, Lift pump, Turbo upgrade.
If you are wanting to run a larger tune such as a hotter PPE tune. I would consider a lift pump so to take stress off the Cp3 pump. MAke it last longer, and the lift pump will deliever more volumne of fuel.
I am kind of leaning toward the ATS due to the "tunes for the buck". The bad thing is If you have it sooner or later you will try it so I am just trying to figure out where I stand and am go to before I get a tuner / Trans / Lift Pump.......or just be happy and safe with a PPE standard or economy tuner.

id say pretty much anything with a high tune. i can even put my truck into limp with my banks because of low fuel pressure due to not having a lift pump

IMO it never hurts to have a FASS or Air Dog on any tune due to the air seperation and the 2 micron filter.
I of course would suggest the Air Dog FP150 your looking at $539 for that. If you think it will be cheaper to go with the FP100 think again its $10 difference.
Ideally you would do the trans then the lift pump and then the tuner but we all know how that goes.
Typically after adding around 120-135 HP the lift pump is a must. It is good to have it before then though, just to take the stress off of the CP3 pump. You will probably need to Shim the FPRV too.

I hear alot of guys shimming FPRV, what does it do for the truck, shimming it, not the valve itself.

When you get a code for low rail pressure would be the best time..J/K if you adding more than 100hp,do it now...Depends on tuner and your foot too..
