I am going to work on installing my 4" down pipe back MBRP exhaust tonight and was just wondering how hard it is to get the stock exhaust out in one piece? Is it worth even trying to fish it out or should I just cut it out. Not worried about returning to stock unless something really bad happens like EPA busts me or something. How high will I have to jack up the rear end to get it out if I do try? I don't have any really good jacks, just the factory one and another scissor type. Any other tips before I start would be awesome as well. Thanks for any help...
Brian

Depending how rusty shouldn't be to bad to get off. And without a floor jack might be hard to jack the back end up enough. Also make sure to jack the front up and pull front pipe out toward the front. Remove a trans bracket, you will know which onw when look under the truck.
That should get you started, let me know if i can help anymore.
Thanks Tyler. Always there when I need you. By the way, Thanks for the great business transaction and great customer service. There is nothing like getting ongoing support and advice from vendors on this forum. You all go way above normal customer service. I'm sure I'll have more questions. Truck ran great on the pull up to Charlotte from here. 3 hour trip and I got about 11.5 MPG towing probably 8,000 lbs. That was with PPE on level one and raining like a motha. We got 9 inches of rain here in Charleston! Anyway, thanks again.

Just installed the same system, and I only had to lift the rear wheel slightly off the ground, to get the old tailpipe section out. A pair of safety jacks are a must. The only other hint would be to disconnect the DPF hose's, and not try to remove the probes as I started to do. The temperature probe wires just unplug, located along the frame.

I did have to cut mine by the rear end because I did not feel like dropping my spare. You will have to pull the tranny bracket for removal and re-installation. Just make sure all the pipes are aligned properly before you tighten the clamps. I would just leave them a little snug until the install is complete so you can adjust the pipes if needed. Also if you have acess to a wire welder tack the exhaust in place afterwards to keep the pipes from moving in the future.

I did mine with just using ramps on the passenger side...no problems. Just took it apart at the 4 bolt flange and it came out in one piece...of course my stock system was straight piped, but the muffler just makes it heavier anyway.
