I am a technician at parkland chevrolet by trade. I just sold the old powerstoke and bought my first cclb 05 lly dmax. On with my questions.
I have a juice with attitude. Its plug and play and I like. It I will not run efi live. I know I can make lots more power ya ya. Anyway when I run my truck in stage 3 4 5. The truck backs down all the time. I have the egt alarm set at 1400. Let me know what the cure is. I know that you can hit the enter button twice to disable backdown but thats a pain in the ass.
I have also heard that doing a turbo back exhaust will cause me to get a check engine light due to backpressure. What is the cure for this. I dont want to have a check engine light on.
I dont have juice, but when I put my banks programmer on, it did the same kinda thing. it would haul @$$ till 3rd gearish,(levels 3 and up) and then back down, with the PDA showing no alarms. The solution to the problem, in my case, was the fuel filter was 10,000 km past due for a change. I changed it, and everything was fine. when did u change yours last?

oh, sorry. about your turbo back, I've never seen a code once. some people will tell you to get a "finger stick", i wouldn't waste the time or money till you see if it even throws code. and if u get a couple, carry a OBDII reader in the glove box...

You will most likely not get a SES light with a turbo back exhaust. It is possible, but not likely. You will however get codes, but they will be stored and not cause a SES light.

heres a few things that i think is causing your power cutting, high EGT's caused by stock exhaust so replace it and take care of the high egt problems.keep the fuel filter changed every 7K-9K miles for sure.also do the mouth piece upgrade to help lower EGT's as well.

Maybe I'm way off here...but could it also be due to the de-fueling?? If so...you can't really help that unless you shut it off...and on a stock tranny...not a good idea. But like TyreBoyz said....get an exhaust for sure....it will lower EGT's and help A LOT.
