I figured the 42 to was way to big to daily drive and tow with reasonably even though some are doing it, and being ball bearing helps it spool somewhat quicker but with the larger exhaust housing (1.07AR) its still a bit laggy. But towing 11k with the same excats tune it keeps the egts well under 1200 where they would creep up over 1250 on some good hills with the stocker, all while making about 7-10 less psi!

did your factory turbo pop? or was this upgrade part of the search for more power?

I was considering an aftermarket turbo kit for my LLY, just wondering if there was a certain part of the install that was more difficult than the others, I have fairly good mechanical skills but dont want to get in over my head.

Its rather simple, mostly just tight nuts and bolts! The best tool for the job is patience, make sure the truck can sit a few days so you arent rushed and all will be fine!!!

Hardest part IMO is getting the stocker off.

hey 05_LLY do you think your truck would be faster with a auto or the ZF-6 tranny?
