Didn't see a maintenance thread and need to change my oil
I didn't see a thread or section for maintenance....I might have over looked it but I didn't see anything. My truck I have had for about 2 weeks now and it is 67k miles on it. I would like to change the oil and I need to know what is a good diesel oil and filter. I also need to know how much to much and what other maintenance items I could address since I am not sure what all has been handled on the truck prior to my ownership

Many people use Shell Rotella T as its a decent oil, and readily available at several different places. Diehards go with Amsoil as it's pretty much the best stuff you can get. It'll take 10 quarts to change. Other maintenance is pretty much the same as gassers... oil filter, air filter etc.
The big one you need to stay on top of is your fuel filter. Go with Wix on this one (forgot the part number, but someone else will post it, of that I'm certain). Should be done every 5-7K, and when it gets dirty, it has a whole host of symptoms it can cause - not truly horrible problems, but big annoyances that are easily remedied by changing it.

I'd stick with Rotella 15-40 unless u have a disposable income Rotella itself is $12 bucks a gallon last I checked amsoil was over 50 I think

I will only say this, there are many differing opinions about this as it comes up every single week. Yes Amsoil is not $12 per gallon it is more than that per gallon (Send me a Private Message for exact Pricing), but you only have to change it once a year or every 15K miles in extreme duty service and every 25K miles for light normal duty service. Amsoil WILL Save you Time and Money over any other Full Synthetic Due to longer drain intervals and less engine wear which translates in the long run to less cost in repairs as the engine wears out.
You will also see an increase in Fuel economy with Amsoil since it flows better inside the engine and the internal parts of the engine will have less resistance to movement.
BTW, Amsoil is NOT over $50 per gallon!!! That is simply not true, you can buy 2.5 gal jugs of the stuff for less than $60 with the Preferred Customer Program.
You must not have contacted me to do that "Checking" on the prices of our products.
I have run Royal Purple synthetic for several years with great success. I am getting ready to change to AMSOIL 15W40 synthetic based on comments made on this site. I am also told that AMSOIL EA filters are good. I have one of those to try also.
