Want to Buy Duramax- Need Help

I have a 1995 Ford F350 and want to trade up to used Duramax. I’ve heard great things about the vehicle, engine and drivetrain. My question is, what’s the best year to buy in a quality used crew cab dually 4 x 4? 2004-2005, 2006-2007.5, or 2007.5> ? Which series has had most of the bugs worked out, easiest to upgrade, better transmission, MOST FUEL EFFICENT and best value to the pocketbook?

Appreciate your help………..

Richard

You have a problem hear. The most fuel efficent is an 01-04.5 lb7. In my opinion as far as working on them and problems, I own a lly and Wish I would have bought a 06 lly/lbz. But lly, lbz, lmm. The fuel mileage is worse, the never they get.

06 has 6 speed tranny and thats way stronger than any of the 5 speeds.
