EGT Monitor questions??? fluctuations

I was looking for some feedback from a few others on their pyrometer readings! I bought my 05 Duramax and it already had a pyrometer installed so when I bought my Triple Dog w/ Outlook I just used the one that was in there..
I notice that the readings jump all over the place on my outlook. It will jump from 200 to 800 to 450 to 1300 to 300 just all over the place even while sitting idle!

Is that normal?? is it supposed to be jumping that randomly so high and so low? I figured it would jump when I get down on it but I didn't suspect it to fluctuate that much when cruising at 1800 rpms or sitting idle.

I would just like to hear from people who have them about how their EGT's normally display.
