I have an 05 as well and with the 50 to 60 degree weather in North East PA I am getting 16 to 17 MPG on country roads. I already have the Banks cold air intake and cat back single exhaust. Can I still use the Banks cold air intake that I have now with the mouthpiece that yall recomend or do I have to get a different year Banks cold air intake? I was hoping for better MPG but as of now maybe we are still on the weak winter blend fuel I guess.
Hand calculated my second tank on fuel today. First 160 miles all interstate driving 75, 2300 rpm, remainder of tank going back and forth to work which is 13 miles each way with mostly town driving, got 13.5 mph. Lie o meter showed 15.9. My dic shows 68% on fuel filter. Reckon it needs changing? I've read that it can hurt fuel mileage. Got the mouth piece ordered from gm parts direct website. KB is a little to much for my wallet at this time. Will probably get the cold air intake and custom tuning later from him. Just bought this truck and getting a 5th wheel rv this month. Funds are stretched right now. Any suggestions on this is appreciated. Truck runs fine.
Today is my first day off since getting truck and I was totally shocked when I looked at the air filter. It has been totally neglected. Rats nest in housing, filter was literally heavy with dirt. Cleaned it all up and replaced filter. I'm sure my mileage will go up. Bought this truck from a GM dealer and he commented they done the 90+ system check, reflashed ecm, new E-rated tires, etc. I took a lot for granted. Oil has not been changed, nor fuel filter, definitely didn't check air filter. By the way, who has the wrench to get that sensor off the fuel filter? Advance Auto parts knew nothing about it.
Number 1 check to make sure all of your turbo piping connections are tight and not leaking off pressure. Second, I have a 13K fifth wheel, I have tried towing with my ppe on level 1,2,3. It towed slightly better in level 1 and 2 but it tows the best stock and also gets the best fuel mileage stock. 8.84mpg. Towing. My fifthr. is 13'4" tall. But I have never seen any better than 8.84. Exhaust will help, and a lbz mouthpeice will help.

Holy rats batman, that will surely do it! I think I would be making a trip back to the dealer and do some, well, you know.
