Hey Guys...Been starring at this EGR Block off plate for a week now...(only had truck 3 weeks) and I have a FE9 truck...and I want to put it on....After searching the Forum, I can't seem to find this answer ...
If my truck goes into "Limp Mode" because of this plate...say 50 miles from home....(and I do not have a programmer yet) How do i get it OUT of Limp Mode?? Can i just pull over and re-start and it's gone or what? I really don't need to be far away and be stuck in Limp Mode w/ my daily driving schedule...Please help the Newbie w/ the Limp thang' . Thanks

If its an FE9 truck it won't go into limp mode because of the EGR block off plate. It won't even throw a DTC. (trouble code)
You're one of the lucky ones with that code truck, that gives you open season on the EGR and turbo back exhaust without havig to have a tuner or fingerstick mod.
Just pop it in, get rid of the cat and muffler, and enjoy!
Cool...sounds good and I checked and I do not even have the NE1 (Northesat emmissions) code either However!!.....I am still DYING to know what happens should this "Limp" thing occur....This truck is my lifeline for work and if I do not understand how to correct this Limp Mode should it occur, I will just wait for a PPE Tuner (which I am in no rush at all 'cause this Dmax throws down power sooo well stock...) Help the post "powerstroke" and "cummins' dude out here.... (I gotta say..don't hate me either....I would LOVE to feel my old Juiced cummins behind an allison trans...gawd!!)

Its a basic federal emissions equiped truck. Federal emissions for the LLY did not require EGR. Just some yankee states and Cali. Plus some of our northern frenchies (canada).
So basicaly an FE9 truck has EGR and it operates, but does not have the same tuning program with the DTC's associated with it.
I read....FE9 is Federal Emmissions and don't throw a code W/O Fingerblock when EGR Block is done (aong with NE1) ....and as far as Limp Mode....I Dunno I just don't want to Limp if I do this is all, and if I do....just want to be able to fix it is all....My old Diesels never "limped" LOLOL...they either ran or broke Just trying to understand is all and don't wanna get stuck.

I dont know much about limp mode and reseting it. I've gone into limp mode 600 miles from home and kept right on going. It was very limited on power though and would bairly go over 60mph. But with the cruise set at 60 it held. Felt more like a stock 6.5L chevy then. lol
I ran a couple hundred miles and stoped to eat. When I went back out and fired up the truck all the power was back but I still had the SES light on. Mine went into limp because the fuel filter was dirty and I threw a "low fuel pressure" code. Not sure if they al do but I got full power back when I shut it off and restarted it. That is till about 80 miles from home andthe filter really got clogged. It chugged while accelerating and couldnt go over 45 or so. If you do long distance or drive as much as I do, KEEP a spare filter in your truck. Small town parts stores close early and open late. lol

That's what I was looking for Thanks I just want to know..short of having a programmer in hand...It may/will reset itself is all...I tow 8K behind me to my worksite 3 times a week and don't need to be going 35MPH down I-95 through Philadelphia is all....at least without a crash-helment LOL. Thanks

Mine is an FE9 and still gives a code,,,,never heard of the "along with the NE1" thing,,,I will have to go out and check my truck. I am positive it was the EGR blocker plat e that triggered my SES light. Just cause its FE9 didnt mean anything for mine!!
