New Owner with some questions!

I just picked up an 05 LLY. I have HP Tuners which i used on my old truck with the 8.1 vortec big block. I would like to use HP tuners instead of buying a programmer being I already have the software. Anyone on here using HP and could give me some help on what to do for a good basic tune?

welcome to the forum..tuning a diesel different compared to a gas engine in some ways so for your best tuner for the dollar go with the Diablo or Hypertech but if you want the best go with PPE or EFILive..i gained 3 to 4mpg on both of my trucks doing a Exhaust CAI and the PPE tuner..

I went ahead and ordered a diablo predator last night. Seems like a good choice.
