1st Question..Any of you boys/girls straight piped the stock exhaust?...If so how do you like it?...Whered did you find the cat and muff delete pipe (3.5 inch)...or is it worth just buyin the 4inch expandit system?...since I am on a budget with this truck.
2nd Question....Everyone always wants a louder turbo..And with my old truck ( cummins ) you could take the slincer ring out and make it louder ...can we do this on the duramax turbos?
thanks! in advance...one week in to bein duramax owner and A list 2 miles long of things I want to do!

No silencer ring on our turbos. The exhaust will do the most. If you're on a slim to none budget, a big rig shop should have what you need for a stock straight pipe. I can get you into an expandit system for real cheap though if your interested!! Or anything else for that matter!
dont forget the res block off you can do to make the turbo alittle lounder
My 02' LB7 didn't have a cat from the factory. Might be able to pull one from a junk yard.
Better yet, might see if anyone here has their old one they are willing to part with. I kept mine, but only had this exhaust on for about a month and want to see what the local LEO community has to say about the sound of the truck.

Ahhh yes, thanks for the memories friend....I remember pulling that darn snap-ring out myself to hear the music Old common-rail cummins dude here too....I don't miss the 48RE at all
PS: I still got the snap-ring and that little washer-like part that came out of the turbo as well...guess i should chuck it .

They do scream!! They're great if you're on a budget. A little more tweeking to get the fit perfect, but for the price, it goes on pretty well IMO. Let me know if I can help!
All I have is a programmer and modded intake with STRAIGHT piped... I loved it.. no kitty no muffler.... its great... I got on it next to a buddy and the only thing he could do was hold his ears it was so loud

resignator block off. its the little black box that says 6.6 duramax on it attached to the intake piping. you can put a 2 inch test plug in it and block it off. its designed to quiet the turbo. its helps some, not a ton though. its only 2 bucks though to do.
