if you don't have tuning, this is too high. But it depends on where you have your sensor tapped and whether you have a correct install, or subject to ram influence.

killerbee my truck has no tuning or programming done to it just the upgrades listed in my signature, i have the boost gauge connected to the boost tube coming right off the turbo, after playing around a bit more it still hits 27psi but comes down after hitting 3rd 4th 5th gear could you please give me an idea of what it should be

stock boost at the MAP sensor should be around 20 psi if you are low elevation. Add 2-4 psi for losses upstream to your sensor, and you are probably in the ballpark.

I assume that your number goes up a little with increased rpm?

Boost discussions are like mpg threads.

Everyone has a different arrangement, tuning, sensor location, MAP vs boost confusion, etc

i have seen 40PSI ..yep its a stock LLY turbo but if i'm not mistaken it didnt like it to well but it still lives!
from my memory our LLY on stock tuning would hold roughly 23-24PSI and spike 25PSi at times..reading taken from the cold side of the intercooler just before the intake!
