where from here

gentlemen,

I have been slowly modifying a 05 LLY , (straight from cat back) added K & N intake/ filter and placed a Van Aaken Smartbox on the truck. Power is not a problem, I can make more smoke and show with the best. but my problem is I am not happy with the fuel economy and worried about the egt's with aggressive 265's on the truck through western Iowa with 5K in a 14' enclosed could only pull 10.5 mpg and would cycle engine fan. This truck is being built for good mileage with trailers and need advice on where to go from here.

You need to change your turbo mouthpiece for the latest LBZ mouthpiece. The 05 LLY had problems with the mouthpiece causing it to overheat. Give Killerbee a PM and he will fill you in. He makes his CAI kit that includes the new mouthpiece.

Are you running synthetics? With AMSOIL you can increase your mpg by up to 8%. I gained 2-3 mpg by switching and started adding the fuel concentrate and cetene booster with every fill up. PM me if you would like more information
