Got my PPE today...can I install as I am currently modded?
Hey guys, Just came today, i got this more for code blocking for my EGR plate which i will install w/ PPE simultaneously. Here's my deal, I have a stock exhaust still and don't have gauges yet///I was tinkering w/ just the 40hp download....NOW, my "credentials" I am a major car guy meaning I understand motors...I've owned 3 diesels before this all juiced and gauged up....by this, I am saying i know not to run hard up hils w/ a Tune (EGT's) and so forth and i will get gauges fairly soon (very busy w/ work now)...I DO NOT "drag race" or ever floor/beat on my truck, 'tis my worker...SO...do the EGT's w/ the 40hp tune really get up there quick versus stock? (am i safe) I really know I am doing this backwards (before exhaust and gauges) but i gotta admit, that extra little Oomph from the stoplight is nice Be honest, call me a butthead if needed...not looking to hurt my truck acting like an anxious kid here (which is basically what i am doing ) planning on install tomorrow, any feedback appreciated. Thanks, Bob (the Mopar guy who drives a Chevy everyday )

You'll be fine, a 40hp tune isn't enough to do any damage. If you were to put it to a higher tune, you would still be ok so long as you don't "beat" on it, like holding WOT for long periods of time. Just take er easy and you'll be 100% fine til you get gauges.
I am also amazed that the CP3 on these motors handles this w/o additional fuel-pressure...I HAD to add another inline pump on my Cummins to keep up w/ fuel or bye-bye CP3...these dmax's don't even have a pump!! that amazes me as they appear to be the same pump....my dodge had 17psi at idle and held around 12psi lowest really into it.
But cool anyways on the Thumps-Up for the 40hp setting w/o gauges initially....Now I can go do Dually Burn-Outs tomorrow (just kidding)

It will on the 40 hp tune, which is like 15 rwhp gain.
cummins has a fuel pump in the tank so they acually can handel more HP with a stock fuel system. GM dmax does not have a aux fuel pump so the cp3 has to do all the work.

I'll fix that on my own But it amazes me that u don't hear about "blown CP3's" on this site...almost never! on the Dodge sites it is real common without adding more fuel pressure...maybe i'll just do the BD Diesel pump i had on my Dodge, it did really well.

You don't really even need to worry about it until you get up into 500hp territory. If you make it that far you'll get a built tranny on the way. So where you're at and where you're going, there's really no need for it!
Oh, and DirtyMax03, he was talking aobut 17psi of fuel pressure on his dodge cp3, not boost pressure.
