I was wondering how hard it it is to install head studs. do you have to take the head off or can you just take one bolt out at a time and exchange it with the stud? Thinkin about the gt40 turbo kit from ppe

Head studs are not hard just very time consumming. U can take 1 bolt out at a time but if i was u before i done the gt40 i would deffantly look into some rods and pistion. And why your that far down put a cam in the truck. It will cost u about 7500 dollars to do all this which is cheaper then about 15000. Just my .02

Duramaxs dont like no more then 600 hp on stock bottom ends. The heat from timing and cyl pressure from larger turbos take a toll on these motors after 600 hp. Usally u may be fine with a large single keep the timing down and do not run dual fullers. But why take that risk. If u have anymore questions fill free to Pm me. I decided to do the whole bottom end. im just going to do it right the first time around. im going to go with the socal diesel internals. and the gt4094 turbo Im going to start the build after the holidays forsure by mid jan
