What is EFI LIVE??

I hear everyone talking about EFI Live and tunes and so fourth and I have no idea what this is in the sence of how it works. I know its a performance enhancing "thing" is it like an Edge does it have a viewable screen or what? Just wondering if someone could explain this to me. I am tryin to decide between this unkown thing and an Edge Juice with attitude. Thanks.

EFi live is a custom tuning software that u use a laptop computer to rewrite the ecm. IT downloads just like a handheld tuner but the difference is u make the tune for what u want instead of being limited buy the three tunes u get with a handheld. IT also is a data loger and scan tool.

That is some serious stuuf and I am sure it is really neat and fun to paly with once you learn how to opperate it but would it save or waste my money by buying this or Edge Juice with attitude? I dont do any serious pulling, racing, or demanding applications. I do pull farm equipment and other loads at certain times but not everyday. I just want some more power just to play with peoples heads! So do I need this or the Edge?

This is what it boils down to if u already have a lap top and gauges efi live with the dsp5 switch will be the way to go. If u dont already have egt, And boost gauge or laptop then buy the edge. Efilive is for people wanting serise power. Also what year is your truck. If its a 06+ i have a brandnew edge i will sell u cheap let me no

it just depends on what you want to do with your truck.. if you just woul dlike to plug n play and change level n the fly then go with edge.. if you like messing around on the computer and want to fine tune your truck to ecactly the way you want it then go with EFIlive.... they heven have a demo avilible so you can test out the program before you buy.... good luck

Two more things....if you are looking at a switch on the fly programmer, you can also check out the Bully Dog PMT and Banks 6 gun w/PDA. They basically all do the same thing...but some have better warranties and do a couple small different options. Plus it's nice to be able to drop the power level when towing....and raise it back up when just driving....you don't have to stop your truck, pull fuses, and wait for a reload.

If you're just gonna tune it and leave it, then I'd strongly recommend the PPE Xcelerator. I have one and love it. Dad's got the Edge in his 05 and I can tell a huge difference in the 2. Unless you wanna tinker and change things then EFI live is the way to go. I'm gonna stick with my PPE for now but might go to EFI in the future.
