I recently bought a 04 lly. When askin about performance I was told the first thing to do is address the mouthpiece problem. I removed the mouthpiece to clearance the lip(temporary fix till I can afford a killerbee) but theres nothing there to remove, the lip is smooth, not like im hearing the LLY mouthpieces are. I guess it could have already been replaced by the previous owner with the LB7 mouthpiece, how do I determine what I have? I still have bad turbo lag so I wanna do whatever it takes to get rid of that. Pulls like hell once it gets goin but takeoff sucks.
just buy the LBZ (not LB7 totally different turbo) mouthpiece, a 4 inch rubber coupler boot and 2 hose clamps and your set. the LLY mouthpiece is small diameter, not rough on the inside.

port ou the material on the inside to a larger diameter. turbo lag, try driving a LB7 stock if your complaining, haha. the LBZ mouthpiece will help aswell as a tuner and exhaust.
o you have a tuner, jsut a crappy one, bullydog stuff really sucks for dmaxes

I was scared to try to port it out any. The walls are already thin, u could'nt take out enough to do any good. Seems like tryin to port it would just make it worse by killin the smooth flow
