horrible mileage, can it be improved?

I have an 04 dmax lly with banks six gun, 4 in. exhaust, quadzilla intake.. No cat. It doesnt seem to matter how i drive i get bout 13-15 mpg, not pulling anything. This is with banks on 5, seems to give the best mpg.
Changed fuel/oil filter , nothing seems to help.
Is this the norm or should i look for more from the dmax? Is there anything i can or should change that would help? Thanks

What body configuration, crew cab, reg cab, long bed....... 13-15 should be about the norm for a untuned truck, my 04 CC/SB 4x4 got 14.5ish bone stock now with a efi tune 4" turbo back and volant intake its up to 18+ish! Tuning will give u the best milage improvements, u might want tolook into another tuner!

Yeah I agree with 05LLY, might want to get a programmer, I was getting about 11mpg's with my edge box while pulling a small trailer, I just put on my PPE Xcelerator a couple days ago and already picked up about 2mpg with it.

With 285's and getting 15 if thats city driving...I personally don't see how that is bad. But if you are getting 15 while doing highway driving...then there is something way wrong with your truck other than your setup. I don't think I've ever heard of a truck getting 13-15 highway miles.

our 05 lly cant get over 14mpg going 75mph on the freeway..... is there any box out for d-maxs that is just for mileage? Quad has a mileage box for about $200 for cummins that only does timing and people claim it helps alot... Anything out there for a duramax?
