Beech, I'm gonna have to disagree.
Tires have a lot to do with mileage. Those are 33s. Stock is 29.5. Thats almost 4 inches in height difference.
I'm willing to bet that he would pick up 2 mpgs with 245/75R16s
thats true in general chris but you gotta remember us 5 speed guys with stock wheels and tires turn 2450rpm at 75
so if you do a lot of highway the taller tires help believe it or not...
but at the same speed.rpm, your right smaller tires are better

Whoa. Thats pretty high. I'm at 1950 going 75. That makes sense to me now.
How did you get there? Did you change gearing or use really big tires & have you checked speed with your GPS? I run 265-75s, stock gearing & set my speedo for my tires & it matches my GPS & I get 65mph @ 2000 RPMs. Let me know if I'm wrong, but if you have stock gears like me, you'd have to be running 37" tires.

I have a 6 speed silly.
I'm not running stock tranny programming either. You can change cruising RPMs a little with EFI.

I took a trip this weekened 250 miles 1 way bone stock everything including tires I got 18.8 mpg figured by hand showed 19.9 on the readout at 70 mph Im thinking with a mouth piece and some tuning that 21-22 mpg is possible.
