I put a MBRP 4" Turbo back exhaust. Do I need to block the EGR off? OR what is it going to harm me keeping the egr on there? I hear of all these folks blocking it off. What if I dont block the EGR off with this aftermarket exhaust.

But my question is how long can I ride without the EGR blocked. Why does it need to be blocked with a straight pipe and not a stock system?

you dont HAVE to block it, just like you dont need to change your oil, or air filter.. but it sure is a good idea... makes zero difference stock vs. aftermarket exhaust...
Okay okay, that was my question will I be okay for about a month until I get efi Live

I just bought an 05 LLY with 70k mikes. I plan to do the EGR blocker very soon (along with the AFE MP and others). With this many miles using the EGR, what can I do to clean things up?

That's really not a whole lot of miles, but I would go ahead and buy some AMSoil cleaner for your oil and then go with any synthetic you want. I like AMSoil and recommend it when asked, but there are plenty other good ones out there. As far as the AFE MP, unless you're looking for a factory replacement for an aftermarket air intake, then I'd just go with the LBZ MP, mainly because its gonna be about 100 bones cheaper and does the same thing. You'll have to cut your intake hose, but its easy.
I'd also drain the hydro boost (there's a write up), check the brakes, transmission fluid, and differential (if 4wd don't forget the front). Buy a good dry filter (stay away from K&N), and lastly go buy a big jug of cetane boost/fuel additive and replace your fuel filter at the same time.
The last advice I'll give you is to limit yourself on how many threads you read on here, unless you have deep pockets and want to have a bad ass truck (just kidding)

Yea i did the egr block at 50k miles and my truck had a pretty liberal coating of soot on the gasket. About 1/16th of an inch on it. Cleaned and installed. And removed last week cus i had a leak and already there was a pretty good amount of soot on it.
