This sounds like torque management...it's like trying to do a brakestand with full throttle...it doesn't really let the truck go full power at first (you usually need to start about half throttle and then roll more into it). I have noticed that when running a 65 hp tune vs an 85 hp tune. Your tranny is slipping a little bit more at the higher setting than the lower setting. I'm not sure about our trucks having the same torque management as the gassers, but I have too noticed this with my truck. I love the way it pulls without even really getting on the throttle...that is why most guys say just to roll into it when taking off.

are shim kits necessary when running big tunes such as 500rwhp tunes?

i would highly recommend doing some fuel upgrades with 400+RWHP.

Fuel Rail Shim fittings,Boost Vavle for the LB7 and i would highly recommend lift pumps.
