I ran an AFE stage1 intake w/pro-guard7 filter on my LBZ since new and as soon as I started playing with a Quadzilla Stealth2 on 90HP+, I would throw a P0108 code (Code: P0108 Modules: ECM, PCM Description: Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor Circuit High Voltage) which the techs at Quadzillapower could not understand why and a few others told me it was because of the CAI and suggested puting the stock airbox back on. Any tune under the 90 would not throw the code. Stock airbox back on and no codes since so anyone else have this prob?

So many people have gotten used to living with that fan, they go into withdrawal, like something is wrong, when it finally acts like it was suppose to from the drawing board.
If you add an LBZ intake, complete with LBZ compressor mouthpiece, you may enjoy the same silence in the 90's and up. Who knew that the cooling system could be so crippled by the intake?

There are more AFE intakes in the landfill than on vehicles. They are famous for this problem. This is what happens when you change the tube size and MAF positioning, without changing MAF voltage scaling in the PCM. If you buy EFILive, you can solve this problem.

there is significant impovement potential in the exhaust.
There is improvement potential in the intake as well. But not a one of these idiot companies manufactures the piece that is damaging flow. They all replace the parts that have no issue, with inferior product. And you pay for this. It's your tax refund.
Thanks for your opinions,I have had my BEST overall results when I opened up the exhaust, and never considered foolin with the intake on my LBZ.I for one like the idea of someone who has vast knowledge when it comes to these issues,if everyone would take time to read the links ya posted, there would be a lot less questions/problems.I do get maxxtorque and absorb what I can, thanks for the info!!!

I have been told that before so I guess when I'm ready to step-up to EFI, then I will think about a different CAI. Since AFE's are notorious for this, would you recommend another manufacturer?
Thanks!

The only intakes I would consider or recommend, use a strategy to isolate the vehicle from IAT rise.
I manufacture one that essentially looks stock and keeps IAT down.
I think Volant and Banks do, but they are expensive once you get the snorkel tubes and all.
Are just do what hookem horns is doing. The stock filtration is better than any of the $$$ candidates. There is relatively little resistance, you never have to oil the damn thing, and the 1618C element lasts forever.

Does relocating IAT sensor give the same results, just curious??

I have a question, we use it on our race car, basically it's a roll of heat resistant header wrap that we use to wrap the primary tubes in the engine compartment to cut down on the heat around the starter and other componets. My question is or would it be to my advantage to wrap the Intake Tube from the box over to the mouth piece? Seeing that the Intake Tube runs right over the motor and intake where all the heat is at. I'da know just an idea, I was kinda thinking it would keep the heat from soaking in to the plastic and increasing air temps....okay after reading over this I sound like dumb arse for asking but I gotta.
