I'm trying to decide between the airaid and the s&b for a 2005 2500HD GMC CC S/B.
When I go to different web sites I find 2 stock numbers for both items.
I seen a few airaids before and I just installed a S&B on my truck. Between the 2 id have to say go with the S&B. They put alot of testing and enginering into there products

not to argue, but I have to disagree. If this were the case, then the LLY compressor mouthpiece would have been replaced. It is the only piece on the induction system that needs to be replaced...yet none of the intake companies have apparently even tested the LLY to see where improvements can be made.
I would not use any aftermarket intake. It is a waste of money, they obviously don't take that money to do any decent R&D for future vehicles.
Bench testing a filter element does not count...that accomplishes little. If they would just instrument the enetire intake, they would get the gold star, but none of them could be doing this, they all keep missing the mark.
Killerbee is right, I like S&B but no aftermarket intake will filter like the stoke one will. If you were going to upgrade I will tell you find a air box off a 06 and put that on. That power core filters flow enough air for high HP.All the aftermarket test's are done with corse dust and does not recreate real world events. All the aftermarket air filter people will tell you anything you want to hear, but when it comes to buying that new turbo who will pay for that?

Yes the whole LBZ intake and mouth piece will fit on the LLY. There may be a bit of rub on the hood insulation on the 04.5 LLY. MAF can be fixed with EFI or by a GM dealer.

There is no rubbing with my kit. It also does not require MAF rescaling.
The LBZ mouthpiece is now nationally backordered for several months. If you are lucky enough to find any, let me know.
