Muffler "Turn-Around?"

The AFE cat-back exhaust system includes a muffler that they claim you can "turn around" for a quieter sound. I'm sure this restricts the airflow somewhat.
Does anyone know if you can do this with an MRBP system?
How much of a disadvantage do you think this will be?

Yes you can with the mbrp, the only thing it does is let the air go in the fins one direction, or over the fins in the other. So can be quiter if wanted.

It honestly isnt to loud with the muffler installed the regular way. The downfalls I can see are the muffler could get filled with soot eventually ruining the mufler and it wont sound as good. Is say leave it the way it should be and youll be happy.

I have the AFE set up and with the muffler in backward so it is more of a rumble sound and I have my PPE set on Level 6 all the time and have had no issues in the yr and half that I have had it that way!!

the only thing that I have read about turning the muffler around is it causes more interior resonance. I don't think there would be a great deal of sound change, but I haven't tried to turn mine around either.

I have the Diamond eye system with a straight thru design muffler.(no louvers)With the straight thru muffler it is really not that loud. I would just install the thing the way it is supposed to be and not worry about the sound level.Unless you are running covert operations at night where absolute silence is a must. Oh but then your up a creek anyway because its a diesel.LOL
