Egr Blocker And Fingerstick???

I currently have a 2005 duramax and i just cut my cat and muffler off. i was wondering if i needed and egr blocker and fingerstick?? my exhaust gets really hot since i straight piped my truck. would this help me out with power at all???

The egr blocker is always a good idea to keep soot out of your engine. Since you have a 05 i would bet you don't need the fingerstick. My 05 gets the codes but won't turn the SES light on so i don't worry about it.

Like Big Red says, I to have an 05 and you don't need the finger stick. The blocker is definately a good thing but won't make any changes in the performance, just stops sooty exhaust from coming into the engine.

What is the Finger stick and what does it do

The fingerstick is a small computer chip that fools the computer into thinking the egr is getting the properflow. This will let you block the egr without having a SES light.

ok thanks for the help. i wasnt quite sure what it did but i understand now. will my truck still smoke the same??? bc i love the smoke!!!!!

I have had my egr blocker in for almost a week now but i didn't put the finger stick in but I have not had any codes or the light come on yet. So am I going to be okay with out it or should I put it in?

Your not getting any codes because the PPE is blocking them. Don't worry about the fingerstick you don't need it.

I just did the exhaust last weekend, no light yet, and egr plate is on the way. I was wondering if you would get more smoke too. Sounds so much better now
