Exhaust Mainfold Pressure Gauge

I have an exhaust manifold pressure guage installed in my truck and it is usually at the lowest point of the guage until i actually get on it. Then it only really gets up to 10 or 15. Shouldn't it be more since the turbo should be pushing in atleast 20 psi? Or is it way different than a boost guage?

You really don't want more pressure on the exhaust side if you can help it. If you do it will create turbo bark, hope this helps.

Someone (Killerbee) correct me if im wrong but with a vvt turbo, the pressure reading will vary with vane position under most any load and your not going to get a exhaust<intake reading unless you have a HUGE turbo. I'm inclined to say your gauge is giving you a false reading, but ive been wrong in the past. I did, however, come across this on a buddys SRT4 when we put a GT4088 on it.

I have not heard of any LLY VVT's running under 1.0 drive pressure ratio. Usually between 1.5-2.

where is the sensor located?

I'm not sure where it is located. But maybe it is the intake manifold pressure. Then shouldn't it be higher since the turbo should be boosting 20psi? I'll check where it leads tonight.
