Hey ya'll I wanna know what some of ya'll think about Banks. I've only own my HD for about a year and had no problems with my add-ons but it's hard to find people to talk to about this stuff. If anything ya'll banks haters sit back have a beer n let out all yur aggression n tell ol' Murph what's tha problem is with em. Most of tha folks I talk to about em, love em ( All 2 of em!!)

The biggest complaint is the price.I hear lots of people say that, there are a few guys on here that have the Banks and wouldn't have any other way. They all say how it's been good to em,jus kinda on the pricey side..

You can certainly make more power with some of the others, but for what it is, the Banks is a good unit. It delivers reasonable power and almost no smoke at all, while giving a nice mileage increase. I think the only thing to complain about is that it is a little spendy. You could get a lot more power for the same money. But for the person who wants smoke free power, more mileage, and no tranny worries, it isnt half bad IMO.

i have a buddy..that has a truck like mine only its an extended cab...he has the banks system on his...it produces a nice amount of black smoke, plus it runs like a scalded dog...he seems to like it pretty well.

Even on the top setting, I only get a puff of smoke at initial tip in, then a light haze the rest of the way up. It does run well though. The only time I really get much smoke is if I try and stack it with my Diablosport. Then it will smoke a ton, and runs like a bat out of hell, right up to the point that my pump cant keep up.

I think Banks is really good well engineered stuff. On my 01 Dmax I had an edge box then went with the banks 6 gun. Personally, it just didn't give the seat of the pants feel like the edge did. However, neither of them compares to my PPE tuner. I think it just depends on how you like to drive your truck and what you want to use it for.

From what I hear the Banks has a lot of built in safe-guards that most other tuners don't have. It will cut the power if it detects problems, or something to that extent. My thinking is that if your a set it and forget it kind of person, just lookin for something easy and safe, Banks would be great. If you want to haul serious @$$, and replace parts when they break, then something along the line of PPE, or EFI would be best.
I have a full Banks system on my truck. Shift on the fly is great, the PDA is great, the power is great, tech-support if you need it is great, safe-guards are great, piggyback system is great, self tuning the SL setting is great, mileage gain was eh. My opinion is, if you are looking for mileage, don't get it. If you are looking for power, with no loss of mileage and maybe a slight increase, wanting to tow and regular drive without the hassle of re programming, safe guards for your engine and tranny, and knowing you have a product that WILL NOT screw up your computer....then get it. Personally, if I could go back in time, I would probably get EFI Live and get a mileage tune from Idaho Rob. I don't drive like an idiot so I don't worry about my tranny too much. But my Banks impresses me and everyone who eyes my truck.

I've Got All That Banks Stuff Too. The Power Is Ok. The Milage Is Ok. The Pda Has Given Me Problems From Day One. I'm Eventually Goin With A Ppe, But Need A New Tranny Before All That. I Can't Run My Banks On 6 Or Sl At All Or The Tranny Jumps Into Limp Mode. I Guess My Foot's Alittle Heavy. All My Friends Have Powersmokes Or Cummins So It Kinda Has To Be If You Know What I Mean. And Yea The Price On This Thing Was Nowhere Close To Cheap.
^^^Sounds like you have issues with your truck. The PDA really has nothing to do with Banks....that's Palm....I've been running 6 and SL since I've owned it and never had any kind of slippage or problem. Sorry to hear that.
