4" is more than enough to cover what you prob will be doing. But 5" has deeper exhaust note, and offer more flow and lower egt's. I run 5" and love it but if you dont wanna spend extra money 4" more than enough.
How would 5 inch turbo back on a lb7 sound, Also can you put on a bigger down pipe or is the 3.5 thats stock all you can do. I mean someone told me that you can only tap onto the factory down pipe

Diamond eye makes I beleave a 3 1/2 down pipe. If you want a stainless exhaust you have to get 4 inch. I do not think anyone is making a 5 inch stainless yet. I have had my truck next to a strait piped 5 inch exhaust and there is not much of a differance between the two sounds.

Well in shoert it sounds like a jet engine taking off but not near as annoying as a straight piped Cummins
The local truck shop I go to told me that if you don’t have a chip and programmer that it is a waste of money for the 5 inch and that it will cause the truck not to run to it's full potential. Does any one have a 5 inch without a programmer ?
