4" or 5"

wondering if i should go with the 5" straight pipe of the 4" straight pipe. let me know what you guys think

4" is more than enough to cover what you prob will be doing. But 5" has deeper exhaust note, and offer more flow and lower egt's. I run 5" and love it but if you dont wanna spend extra money 4" more than enough.

How would 5 inch turbo back on a lb7 sound, Also can you put on a bigger down pipe or is the 3.5 thats stock all you can do. I mean someone told me that you can only tap onto the factory down pipe

Diamond eye makes I beleave a 3 1/2 down pipe. If you want a stainless exhaust you have to get 4 inch. I do not think anyone is making a 5 inch stainless yet. I have had my truck next to a strait piped 5 inch exhaust and there is not much of a differance between the two sounds.

Well in shoert it sounds like a jet engine taking off but not near as annoying as a straight piped Cummins

The local truck shop I go to told me that if you don’t have a chip and programmer that it is a waste of money for the 5 inch and that it will cause the truck not to run to it's full potential. Does any one have a 5 inch without a programmer ?
