The link to the picture really doesn't do it justice. The new mouthpiece dwarfs the old. It is larger in diameter and carries that diameter a greater distance towards the airbox. The intake tube appears to be shorter to compensate for the larger mouthpiece. If I had an aftermarket intake I might be satisfied with porting out the mouthpiece, but Killerbee's new and improved version is pretty damn impressive.
Of course, the bad news is they're 4-6 weeks out on filling orders right now.

and you can see the comparison of the LB7, LLY and LBZ mouthpiece. I'm am still trying to look into a combination of plumbing parts to adapt old (LLY) with new (LBZ) but, I haven't found out if the LBZ mouthpiece is available alone, or if the whole assembly must be purchased to acquire the mouthpiece.

Preliminary results from weekend towing with new mouthpiece.
No tune, using DIC, reset to "0" for each run.
Unloaded 13.7 increased to 15.5 +13%
Trailer (5000lb.) 11.8 increased to 12.5 +6%
Boat (8000lb.) 9.0 increased to 9.5 +5.5%
These were all short trips,25 miles or less
Trans temp. down by two bars at 95* and 1 bar at 104*.
I figure each bar on the guage to be about 12*?
Coolant temp. same at 210* but did not expect change there as it is controlled by thermostat.
EGT's never over 1000*
I will post again when I make some longer trips.

Interesting about 210*, isn’t it a 195* t-stat?
I had spikes under extreme towing up to 205* before my CAI mod along with 210* spikes on the Allison. (and Howling Fan Syndrome)
Now it stays at 195* with occasional short bumps toward 200*, along with the Allison staying below 200* until outside temps go over 100* then the Allison bumps 205*. (All With MUCH less fan Activity.)
All of this is at 500-1200 ft elevation, so maybe that is the difference. Picked me up a 12v Rotary Tool kit #41695:
Pulling and grinding the Mouthpiece in the morning, along with the resonator plug and the PCV bypass mods.
I’ll have the perfect test on Monday, pulling 32k lbs GCW, 200+ miles pushing 100* outside temps. Elevations will be descending toward sea level, so this will help I think.
I’ll report back with any gains. Of course, the saga could have a much happier conclusion if I was testing the back-ordered ‘Induction Overhaul Kit’ instead.
