Hmm I actually heard thay the edge gets some good mileage gains! I heard some dont make a difference. I know that my PPE gets me a decent 2MPG gain.

Is your buddy getting any mpg gains from his edge? What kind of mileage is he getting?

What is his wheel/tire size? Tuners help, but not that much.

PPE or Quadzilla Stealth 2 will help with mileage compared to stock, but there are alot of things that affect mileage.

Does the guy have a lift and big tires? We had a Dmax in here last month with 37" tires for a Stg IV Suncoast kit, and while we were at it he had us do a gear swap. Swapped the 3.73s for 4.56 and he picked up about 4 mpg.

Does he drive like a racer everywhere? That sure will kill mileage

Tires inflated properly?

The best two we have found are PPE and Quadzilla. Gains are different for each truck as there are a ton of variables that play a role. If he drives like a mad man, he will lose mileage. In order to gain better mileage, you need to drive accordingly.

I had PPE hot +2 and now have EFILive. It was the best move I made in terms of MPG. I just went on a 410 mile trip and got 23.3 MPG according to my DIC. The hand calculated amount will be above 20 MPG because I have 1/8 of a tank left with 410 miles on it so far.

My dad has an 06 duramax with the predator programmer and it is averaging around 20.2 mpg. He is driving mostly city and some highway.
