alright evryone has been telling me that ppe is plenty i dont need the edge on my truck. so i get to reading about every truck with ppe and most everyone drives on the 225 tune. so i take the edge off and install the 225 tune on my ppe. i drive around for alittle while to relearn the trans. everything is feeling pretty good so i get on the interstate. cruising along and a new tahoe pulls up next to me slows down then kicks it. i roll my foot into it and next thing u know the truck is in limp mode.wtf what does no one put there foot in it with the 225? that didnt take a sec to do??? im sure that my trans is in pretty good shape and it only took a few secs and it was limped.wtf
Sorry to hear that. I don't recommend anything over the 160HP tune to my customers with a stock transmission. On the 5 speeds even that is pushing it.

i agree w/ rob, every truck is different. i had the bully dog on mine and limped it all the time, but w/ the quadzilla on 135 it was fine. try putting the edge back on and have it defuel all shifts that should help a little.

I have mine on the 225 setting and no limp (yet!!). But you do get a little converter shudder and slip. At least thats what I hope is slipping. Fun for now though.

The 06+ trucks with 6 speeds and the 06- trucks with 5 speeds cant be compared. The 6 speeds can handle alot more power than the 5 speeds. Did you check on here? Most everyone says not to do over a 90HP gain (#2 tune) because the trans has a possibility of limping. What did you have the edge set at?

did you have a 2K RPM limmiter or was the tranny kicking out of gear?

So far the 225 tune has been great for me, but I don't dare mash the throttle at highway speeds. the 5-4/4-5 shift is were it's going to happen if it does go into limp. It's a fine tune for 1-3 gear and very fast but your probably not helpin your tranny in the lower gears either. If your pretty worried about repeatedy limping it I would just dial down the tuning.

I had abut 35,00 miles on my tranny and the 160 fried it in 4 days and I only got on it about 4-5 times as I was letting it learn and then the one time I really did get on it opps there went 4th!!!!! Nothing over 90 I would say!!
I have the same problem. I asked gillet diesel and they said I need a lift pump. I'm going to put on the Fass 150. Then i'm going to see if that takes care of that problem. I know I need a better tranny for big tunes. Mine does it bad on level 5 and still a little bit on level 4 also, but i run it on level 4.
